This eight volume set begins with “Early American civilizations and exploration to 1600” and ends with “Development of the industrial United States, 1878-1899.” This set contains chronological listings of world events, as well as chapters that cover communications, government, lifestyles, and science and medicine.
St. James Encyclopedia of popular culture REF E169.1.S764 2000
This five volume set covers the 20th century from Hank Aaron to ZZ Top. Sports figures, actors and actresses, authors, books, movies and television shows are some examples of the types of entries included in this set.
The dictionary of art (Grove) REF N31.D5 1996
This comprehensive set of 34 volumes is composed of insightful articles and biographies, as well as and photos of paintings, pottery, statues, and other works of art. This resource provides the reader with a history of the visual arts.
Encyclopedia of artists REF N31.E53 2000
Packed with color illustrations, this six volume set begins with the Middle Ages and covers Western art and artists through the present day. Volume six includes an index, a glossary, and articles on significant artistic movements and styles. Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, Romanticism, and Symbolism are some examples of articles found in volume six.

1. Go to http://valenciacc.edu/wp/library
2. Click on Online Databases (located under Research Tools).
3. Select Valencia Community College from the "Select Your College" drop-down menu.
4. Type your borrower ID (the 14 digit number found on the back of your Valencia student ID) and your PIN (the last 4 digits of your Social Security number or studnet ID number.)
5. Click on log on.
6. Click on the name of the database you want to use.
