Valencia Community College Library cards
A valid Valencia Community College student ID may be used to borrow
library materials and to use the Library computers. The 14 digit number
on the back of the student ID will act as the library borrower ID,
or library card number. This 14 digit number is needed to remotely
access Valencia Community College's online
databases.
Student IDs are issued in the Winter Park Campus Student Development
Office (Room 100). To obtain an ID, students need to bring a current
class schedule, photo ID, and proof of payment.
Winter Park Campus Student Development Hours of Operation
- Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
- Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Please note that Summer Session
hours for Friday are 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.)
Winter Park Campus Library Borrowing policies
Library materials
The Winter Park Campus has a library collection that includes over
5,000 books, videos and music CDs. A valid Valencia Community College
student ID may be used to borrow library materials. Students are
responsible for any materials checked out on his or her card.
Books and CDs may be borrowed for 3 weeks, while videos may be
borrowed for one week. Math videos may be checked out for 3 days.
Items may be returned ay any Valencia Community College Learning
Resources Center.

Fines
Fines for overdue items (except Reserve materials) accrue at the
rate of $0.25 per day per item. Fines for Reserve materials accrue
at the rate of $1.20 per hour per item. Once the item is 20 days
overdue, it is considered lost and the student will be billed for
the cost of the item and a $5.00 processing fee. If the item is
returned, the student is only responsible for the overdue fines.
Overdue notices will be sent to the student's address listed in
the student's library record. Students are responsible for notifying
the Library of any address or phone number changes.
Should a student damage a library item, the student will be billed
for the current replacement cost and a $5.00 processing fee.
Fines and other library related fees must be paid in the Finance
Office. Unpaid library fines may result in not being able to register
for classes, not being able to obtain class grades, as well as the
withholding of transcripts and diplomas. Students with $15 of fines
or greater may not check out any additional library materials nor
renew any materials that are currently checked out.
Reserve materials
Many Winter Park Campus textbooks are on reserve in the Library. Students
may check out reserve items for up to 4 hours. Books may be brought
to class but may not be taken off campus.
