Winter Park Campus Credit Course Department
Telecourses
Students have the option of taking
courses through the Valencia Television
college credit offerings.
These Telecourses are available through
three delivery options:
- Telecourses are offered through cable
television broadcasts on Valencia
Television. Valencia Television can be
seen on Cable-TV systems originating in
Orange and Osceola Counties. (For your
convenience, the Valencia Telecourse Office is pleased to provide
viewing times and cable operator/channel information at
407-299-5000, extension 1610 during office hours, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00
p.m. M-F and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.)
- Students may also view Telecourses in
the Learning Resources Centers on East,
Osceola and West Campuses and in the Technology Resource Center on the
Winter Park Campus.
- Students also have the option of
renting an entire Telecourse series to view
at their convenience. (Call the Telecourse
Office for details.)
Each Telecourse requires some on-campus
class meetings. Students who enroll in a
Telecourse must attend: a mandatory course orientation, all scheduled
class meetings, and exams. Telecourses require self-discipline and a
commitment to study time equal to or greater than that required for
classroom-based instruction. Telecourses may also depend heavily on
text-based formats and require strong reading and writing skills for
student success. Students should weigh personal circumstances
carefully prior to selecting any distance learning course.
Most Telecourses have a $35 registration fee to offset licensing
fees from publishers.
