Competency Test Dates & Procedures for
MAT0020C & MAT0024C

Students enrolled in MAT0020C & MAT0024C are mandated by the State of Florida to pass a State Math Competency Test. The highest grade a student may earn without passing the Competency Test is a D. Students who do not earn a grade of C or better in MAT0024C must retake and pass the Competency Exam when they retake the course. The following is the Valencia West Campus procedures for the State Math Competency Test.

• CALCULATOR NOT PERMITTED
• PICTURE ID REQUIRED
• ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TIME

INITIAL SITTING

• Students must take the test during scheduled time
• If unable to take test at this time, students must make arrangements to take the test prior to the prescribed time. Speak to Carol Thompson 7-240 (407-582-1780) or Aditi Batra (407-582-1720) for more information.
• Missing the first test at the scheduled time without prior arrangements counts as a first attempt. Students may be permitted only one more attempt during the scheduled retest times.
• Picture ID is required
• Number 2 pencil is required

RETEST PROCEDURE

• Students with a C or better in the class may be permitted one opportunity to retest. This includes students who missed the first sitting.
• Students who are unable to retest on the scheduled dates should see Carol Thompson or Aditi Batra for further information prior to retest.
• Picture ID is required
• Number 2 pencil is required

PASSING SCORE

• Students must correctly answer 24 of 30 questions
• Students who require special testing accommodations should contact Carol Thompson or Aditi Batra prior to testing.
• Students will not be permitted to enter testing area once test instructions have begun!!
