PARAMEDIC TECHNOLOGY
SELECTION CRITERIA
The College-Wide Health Related Programs Admission Committee uses the following point system to GUIDE them in the selection of qualified students to be admitted to the Paramedic Technology Program
I. Points will be tabulated using official college transcripts. VCC and overall GPA will be used.

IV. Medical Terminology - HSC 1531 completed with a "C" or higher (3 points)
V. Work Experience
Applicants with a minimum of 6 months work experience in a health related occupation with documentation of a letter from employer of dates or employment and a brief description (20 points).
VI. Basic Life Support Instructor
Documentation as a BLS instructor (5 points)
VII. Volunteer in field
Minimum of 6 months experience in a health related occupation and documentation of a letter from agency of dates and brief job description (3 points)
THE SELECTION OF STUDENTS IS NOT BASED SOLELY ON THE NUMBERS OF POINTS EARNED. POINTS ACCUMULATED FROM THE SELECTION CRITERIA ARE USED TO ASSIST THE ADMISSION COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN MAKING THEIR SELECTION.
