SELECTION CRITERIA
The College-Wide Health Related Programs Admission Committee uses the following point system to GUIDE them in the selection of qualified students to be admitted to the Paramedic Technology Program
I. Points will be tabulated using official college transcripts. VCC and overall GPA will be used.

Applicants with a minimum of 6 months work experience in a health related occupation with documentation from employer |
5 pts (Current Certification) |
Basic Life Support Instructor with documentation (American Heart Association) |
3 pts (Program Chair Approval) |
Volunteer experience with documentation of 6 months experience and letter from agency with job description |
Total Possible Points = 65
THE SELECTION OF STUDENTS IS NOT BASED SOLELY ON THE NUMBERS OF POINTS EARNED. POINTS ACCUMULATED FROM THE SELECTION CRITERIA ARE USED TO ASSIST THE ADMISSION COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN MAKING THEIR SELECTION.
