1.  Points will be given and tabulated using official transcripts.  VCC and overall GPA will be used.  (Total points possible = 20)

2.  Science Course Points (Total points possible = 40)

Prerequisite and science courses completed with a minimum of “C” on the first attempt will be awarded the following points:  It is strongly suggested that students meet as many of the non-Cardiovascular Technology requirements as possible while meeting the prerequisite requirements.  Special preference will be given to those students having completed BSC2093C Human Anatomy and Physiology I, BSC 2094C Human Anatomy and Physiology II, PHY 1007C Physics.

5.  Points earned for courses not required.  Completed with a C or better.

a.  HSC 1004 Profession of Caring = 3 points

b.  HSC 1531 Medical Terminology = 3 points

c.  PHI 2600 Ethics and Critical Thinking = 3 points

THE SELECTION OF STUDENTS IS NOT BASED SOLELY ON THE NUMBER OF POINTS EARNED

POINTS ACCUMULATED FROM THE SELECTION CRITERIA ARE USED TO ASSIST THE ADMISSION COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN MAKING THEIR SELECTION.

YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO INTERVIEW WITH THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND POTENTIALLY THE SELECTION COMMITTEE TO BE GRANTED ADMISSION
