Advisory Group
Continuing Education for Health Professions
Our advisory group is comprised of fine professionals who significantly represent their individual fields of practice in our community. We are excited about the synergy to be gained through this multidisciplinary involvement in the development and evaluation of Valencia's programs of Continuing Education for Health Professions. Special thanks to all who have enthusiastically responded to the opportunity to serve in this vital role.
The Mission, Vision, and Strategy
were adopted by the Advisory Group effective May 15, 2008
Mission
A collaborative partnership that focuses on current trends and evidence-based practices in health care professions, which promotes healthy community through accessible, convenient, and affordable continuing education and specialized training for license renewal and certification.
Vision
Collaborate in mutually beneficial and interdisciplinary partnerships
Enhance provider knowledge and skills
Impact patient care through provider development
Deliver quality and excellence of curriculum and resources
Exceed minimum community standards and expectations
Strategy
- Develop a community network through an interactive and multidisciplinary advisory group and mutually beneficial partnerships within health care
- Identify resources for the delivery of quality continuing education
- Promote programs and specialized training through multiple venues for visibility and publicity
- Increase partnerships to enhance technology in the accessibility and delivery of quality programs
- Focus on evidence-based clinical outcomes and practice in the development and execution of all programs
Functions of our Advisory Group:
- Review the goals and objectives of the program and serve as communication link between the college and the health care community
- Identify community resources that will help support and contribute to the success of the program
- Inform the college staff of changes and trends in the workforce, the professions, and relevant continuing education needs
- Assist in recruitment, providing work-based learning opportunities, and in encouraging health care industry utilization of Valencia educational programs
- Review and recommend revisions in program offerings and in development of future offerings
- Recommend faculty with expertise in the health care fields served by the program
