THE PROCESS OF ACHIEVING SUCCESS
You can not move forward until you know where you want to be. Goal setting saves time - if you plot your goal (trip) you avoid unnecessary detours and getting lost. Goals allow you to monitor your success using tangible markers.
Write down one thing you want to accomplish. (Don't try to combine several goals in one). Write your goal in very a specific manner. (Example: I will study math for 2 hours each day and assign the exact times you will study math). Write specific tasks you will need to complete in order to meet your goal. (Example: create a quiet study area, eliminate interruptions and organize your materials). Try to anticipate barriers that may prevent you from reaching your goal. (Example: not having legible notes or being interrupted by the phone). Write down your plans to overcome these barriers. (Example: tape your lectures and unplug your phone).
