QuickTime Installation
Installing the Player on Windows 2000, Windows XP Home
Edition, or Windows XP Professional
- You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the
Administrators group to install QuickTime
on computers running Windows 2000, Windows XP Home Edition, or
Windows XP Professional. For more information about user accounts
and groups, see Windows Help.
To download and install QuickTime using
Microsoft Internet Explorer
- On the download
page, select the QuickTime download you want, select
the language you want, and then click Download Now.
- In the Security Warning dialog box, select Always
trust content from Apple Computer, Inc,
and then click Yes.
- The QuickTime Setup window will recommend
that you exit all applications before continuing with the installation.
Close all programs and then click Next.
- The program will display an End User License Agreement window.
Click Agree if you agree to comply.
- After installing the initial program files, specify your Internet
connection speed. Choose between 14.4K, 19.2K, 28.8K, 56KModem/ISDN,
112K Modem/Dual-ISDN, T1/Lan, or Unknown/Other. If you do not
know your connection speed, ask your network administrator or
refer to your modem documentation.
- Click OK.
To download and install QuickTime using
Netscape Navigator
- On the download
page, select the QuickTime download you want, select
the language you want, and then click Download Now.
- In the Save As dialog box, choose the location
where you would like to save the program file.
- Click Save.
- To run setup, locate the program file in its saved location
and double-click it.
- The QuickTime Setup window will recommend
that you exit all applications before continuing with the installation.
Close all programs and then click Next.
- The program will display an End User License Agreement window.
Click Agree if you agree to comply.
- After installing the initial program files, specify your Internet
connection speed. Choose between 14.4K, 19.2K, 28.8K, 56KModem/ISDN,
112K Modem/Dual-ISDN, T1/Lan, or Unknown/Other. If you do not
know your connection speed, ask your network administrator or

- Click OK.
