New Student Orientation (NSO)
Online Registration

All new students are required to participate in an orientation session before registering for their first term.

New Student Orientation for degree-seeking students includes:

• campus tour
• information on educational planning
• college resources including LifeMap Tools
• group advising

TO SIGN UP FOR AN ORIENTATION

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME ATTENDING COLLEGE:

1. Submit your application and pay your $25 application fee.
2. Once your application is processed (please allow 3-5 business days) set up your Atlas Account by going to atlas.valenciacc.edu
3. To sign up for your NSO
   
   • Sign in to your Atlas Account.
   • On “My Atlas” page, click on New Student Orientation (on the left hand side)
   • Click on the Campus you wish to select for NSO and proceed from there.

A first time in college student must have test scores (CPT, ACT, SAT) less than 2 years old on file. Your test scores must be in the system before your orientation request can be processed.

IF YOU ARE TRANSFERRING TO VALENCIA:

Orientation for Transfer Students is a 2-Step process focused on the unique needs of students transferring to Valencia from other colleges and universities.

1. Complete Part 1, an online presentation of academic programs, policies and procedures. See directions below.
2. Attend Part 2 on-campus. This session will be approximately one and a half hours and will include preparation for registration. Sign up for this session log in to your Atlas account and on the right hand side you will see New Student Orientation SIGN UP. Click there and choose a campus.

NOTE: You may sign up for this session at any time, but you must complete Part 1 online PRIOR to attending.

BOTH STEPS MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER.

Please provide unofficial copies of transcripts from previous colleges to the orientation office where you will attend. You may fax these to the numbers listed below.

DIRECTIONS FOR ACCESSING TRANSFER ORIENTATION in WebCT

1. AT LEAST 24 HOURS AFTER YOU SET UP YOUR ATLAS ACCOUNT: Go to: http://webct6.valenciacc.edu
2. Click on Valencia Community College
3. Click on LOG IN NOT COURSE LIST
4. Follow directions CAREFULLY and you will be able to successfully complete 8 sections and quizzes.
