Navigating Leadership

Valencia Community College offers student leadership training and experience. Our graduates have demonstrated their abilities by occupying influential positions in almost every profession. They have also played key roles in the development of Central Florida by participating in a variety of organizations that enhance our communities

Many leadership opportunities exist through participation in clubs and organizations.  More than 50 clubs and organizations exist, each requiring officers. Conference experiences that provide leadership training are also available to the members of clubs. Almost every college committee has a student who participates as a voting member.  Students participate actively in creating a quality educational environment at Valencia.

The Student Development Office sponsors the "Navigating Leadership" Program to foster the development of leadership skills. The most notable of the leadership programs is the Navigating Leadership Institute, a certification program for student leaders. 

There are also a number of individual workshops for leadership development throughout the year. These workshops are opportunities for students from all campuses to explore leadership theories and practices and to interact with each other.
