Valencia's Student Identification Number and Personal
Identification Number (PIN) Help
What is my student identification number?
Your Student Identification Number or (VID) is given to you upon
acceptance to the college. This number, which begins with a "V"
followed by eight digits, is used for identification when completing
various transactions with the college and when accessing records via
the FACTS System.
What is a PIN?
A PIN is a unique Personal Identification Number that allows you
to electronically access your student records and register for classes.
Your PIN is initially established when you set up your Atlas
User Account. It is important that your PIN is secure so that other
people cannot access your records or register you for classes without
your knowledge.
What does Atlas have to do with creating a PIN?
Atlas is Valencia's online learning community that connects students,
faculty and staff to resources at Valencia such as online
registration, student records, email, course information and more.
The PIN created in Atlas is the same PIN used to access FACTS and
Valencia's Telephone Information System.
How do I create a PIN?
To create a Personal Identification Number (PIN) you must establish
your Atlas User Account.
Select "Set Up Your Account" and follow the self-guided online instructions.
Once you have completed an online verification process, you will
be allowed to establish your own 6 digit PIN. Upon initial set-up
of your account and PIN, you will also create a "secret" question
and answer that will be used for security purposes if you forget
your PIN later.
What if I am no longer a student at Valencia?
After two years of non-enrollment at Valencia, your student file
is changed to inactive which may prevent you from accessing the
Atlas system. If you are an "inactive" student, you may
establish
a PIN. If you are an inactive student and forget your Personal
Identification Number (PIN), you may reset
your PIN. Remember that creating your PIN in order to access
FACTS will not enable you to access Atlas. Please review
information for "readmission" on the Admissions
homepage.
What happens after I create a PIN?
After you create your PIN, you will be able to access your student
records through FACTS, Valencia's Telephone Information System
(registration/account payment only) and resources offered through
Atlas such as student records, registration, course information, email
etc.
What if I forget my PIN or want to change it?
If you forget your Personal Identification Number (PIN) you
may access Atlas to reset
your PIN. Click on the "Forgot/reset your PIN" link under the Atlas
Help Center in the lower left corner of the Atlas log-on screen.
After submitting basic personal information (name, VID/SSN, birth
date), you will be asked to provide the answer to your secret question
that you established during initial set-up. You will then be prompted
to create a new PIN. This change will take effect immediately, therefore
will be used the next time you access any of Valencia's electronic
resources.
