Campbell McGrath's most recent work, Florida Poems, catalogues Florida's history and figureheads, from the Fountain of Youth to Walt Disney. The New York Times Book Review called it "Stunning. It is between the extremities of the exotic and the vulgar, and of dread and hope, that this fierce book runs its course," while the Miami Herald described the book as "part Walt Disney, part Old Testament." His full-length collections include Capitalism, American Noise, Spring Comes To Chicago, and Road Atlas. His recent awards include the Kingsley Tufts Prize, the Cohen Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Witter-Bynner Fellowship from the Library of Congress in association with the Poet Laureate. McGrath teaches creative writing at Florida International University and lives in Miami Beach with his wife and two sons.
Since 1985, when he published his first novel Raney, Clyde Edgerton has been known for his amazing wit, outrageous characters and memorable stories. His novels, including Walking Across Egypt, Redeye, Killer Diller, and The Floatplane Notebooks have reinvigorated the Southern novel genre and brought Edgerton critical and popular success. Edgerton, who is also a songwriter and performer, often combines singing, reading, and a touch of homespun comedy to his performances. For his work, Edgerton has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Lyndhurst Fellowship, the North Carolina Award for Literature, a Distinguished Alumni Award from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Education Department, and five notable book awards from the New York Times.
