Fortunately, college campuses are among the safest places in our society. We are not, however, immune.
I am very sorry to report that we are dealing with a serious incident. Valencia Community College is assisting the Kissimmee Police department with the investigation of a sexual assault, reported to have taken place in a parking lot of Valencia’s Osceola Campus on or about March 30, 2005. The report was received by the Kissimmee Police Department on September 12, 2005.
Kissimmee Police have released a composite drawing of the suspect, which will be posted at all Valencia Campuses. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Crimeline, at 1-800-423-TIPS.
The safety and security of our students and staffis of utmost importance. Campus security officers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure the safety of Valencia campuses and to assist students, staff and visitors with security concerns. Students and staff are urged to report any suspicious activity to campus security at once, using either the emergency phones located around all Valencia campuses, or by calling 407-582-1000.
