I just want to share with all of you my enthusiasm for this year's Commencement. We have the largest group ever to graduate from Valencia. A year ago I asked the Commencement team to find a way to gain more participation from students and families in the events. This year that participation is up by more nearly 50%. I know it is a long day for some of you, but I appreciate the extraordinary effort and real passion and joy brought by the staff who organize and the faculty and staff who participate in the ceremonies.

By the way, for those looking for a little celebration after the ceremonies, my band will be playing Saturday evening beginning at 8 PM at Borders, Ocoee in front of the West Oaks Mall. Hope my shaking hand holds up!
