Are you a first time Contribute user? Don't worry. It is easy to use, and you will find that it is not any more difficult than editing in Microsoft Word.

What is Adobe Contribute?
Contribute is software that allows Valencia faculty and staff to update, create, and publish content to the Valencia Web site.

How do I get started?
If you currently have Contribute 2 installed on your computer, go to the upgrade instructions to get Contribute 3 running on your computer.

If you are a first time Contribute user, go to the installation instructions to get started.

If you have used Contribute before, but do not have any version of Contribute on your computer, go to the downloads section.

You will not need a new key to upgrade.
Your existing Contribute key should work with the new version of Contribute.

You will need to uninstall Contribute 2 and install Contribute 3.
Instructions for this process are available below.

1. Publish all open drafts. If you don't publish these files before the uninstallation, your drafts will be lost.
2. Close Contribute 2.
3. Open the Control Panel - Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel
4. Click Add or Remove Programs
5. Locate Macromedia Contribute 2 in the list and click Change/Remove.
6. If you are asked if you'd like to save your Contribute settings, please select Yes.
7. After the program has been removed, close the Add/Remove dialog and begin the installation of Contribute 3.

Installing Macromedia Contribute 3

1. Click on the Download link above and save the installer to your Desktop.


2. Close all programs, then run the installer and select the default options. If you are asked about blocking software, please select 'Unblock'. If you are shown 'Error 1904', click OK, and proceed with the installation.


3. After Contribute is installed, open the software for the first time by using the key sent to you by the Contribute admin. You only need to use the key to open the software the first time you use Contribute 3 on your computer. After you have used the key to create your connection settings, you can open Contribute by clicking on the Contribute icon on your desktop. If you do not have a key, contact the Contribute admin: wpeavy@valenciacc.edu


4. After you have installed the software, please call the Contribute admin at x1988 to obtain a serial number.

NOTE: You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to install software on computers running Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista. For more information about your user account, contact the Help Desk at x5555.
