Office 2007 Information
OIT will deploy Office 2007 to staff and faculty as part of a new install (Ghost Image) and begin deployment on or about 1 May 2007. Staff and faculty who are not scheduled for a refresh machine, may request Office 2007 be installed on their current machine through the OIT Helpdesk.
OIT Office 2007 Deployment Procedure
OIT will deploy Office 2007 to staff and faculty as part of a new install (Ghost Image) and begin deployment on or about 1 May 2007. Staff and faculty who are not scheduled for a refresh machine, may request Office 2007 be installed on their current machine through the OIT Helpdesk.
Staff and faculty receiving Office 2007 are strongly encouraged to save their new documents as Office 2003 documents. Individuals with Office 2003 on their systems machines will not be able to open Office 2007 documents.
OIT also strongly encourages each staff and faculty to use the training links located on the OIT Website prior to installation of the new Office products. There are significant changes and training by each user will ease the transition.
Office 2007 Training
Listed below are three links for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Using these links, you can visit the Microsoft site and utilize an interactive training sessions that will allow you choose a function in Office 2003 (Print, Save As, etc.). The interactive utility will then show you where that function will be located in Microsoft Office 2007.
