Banner HR / Payroll Finance FAQs
Significant Notes
- If a user has not attended training, they will not be given access to Banner.
- Users must hold off submitting Requisitions until July 5th. If the users have questions about Requisitions they may submit them to Valencia Procurement e-mail or call x5532.
- Functional questions (HR/Payroll) should be forwarded to Adam Carneiro at x8016.
- Functional questions (Finance) should be forwarded to Brian Bastin at x3303.
- Banner Training manuals are posted on Atlas.
FAQs
Q: How do I log onto Atlas and/or Banner?
A: The Help Desk will provide the standard log on procedures at x5555.
Q: What is my Banner username and password?
A: The Help Desk will reset the user’s name and password as a first time user and then ask the user to log in.
Q: I can log into Banner, but I cannot access my Fund or Organization.
A: Has your Budget Manager requested your access from Brian Bastin? If yes, transfer to Brian Bastin for investigation. If not, remind them that in training everyone was instructed that they must have their supervisor/budget manager send an email to Brian Bastin requesting Fund access.
Q: I do not have the Finance Tab in Self Service.
A: Contact the Help Desk at x5555 to verify within formprof.
Q: I do not have the form names next to the Banner names.
A: Verify that the check box within Options has been checked.
Q: Can I still see access Oracle?
A: Everyone will have access (Inquiry Only) for 30 Days post Banner Go-Live. Reports can also be printed within this timeframe.
Q: I have several errors within Banner, who do I contact?
A: Contact the Help Desk at 5555 they will redirect the user based on the type of error.
Q: Why did the screen change from what I saw in training?
A: The screens should look the same as what was presented in training. There may be minor color/graphic changes but the functional layout should be identifical.
Q: I cannot access forms.
A: Can you access Banner? If yes, then contact the Help Desk and they will check in formprof.
Q: Why can I not access Oracle?
A: Banner is now live within the production environment. Everyone will have access (Inquiry Only) for 30 Days post Banner Go-Live. Reports can also be printed within this timeframe. If they cannot login to Oracle, they should contact Brian Bastin.
Q: When are the next Banner training sessions?
A: The user should be sent to “Leadership Valencia” on the VCC web site.
If the user has not received training, then they will not have access to Banner.
