Enhancing Online Learning
The power of online learning cannot be fully realized until we begin integrating tools which appeal to multiple learning styles and let students interact with their learning materials. When instructors use multiple approaches to the material being presented throughout their online courses, along with various types of assignments and assessments, the learning styles of all students will be engaged in the learnng process.
Our Instructional Design team is dedicated to helping you find the correct tools to support your instructional objectives while meeting the needs of a diverse learning population. The following applications are provided by Valencia to our teaching faculty to create additional course materials.

| iTunes University |
Valencia has been an iTunes U member since the beginning. This tool provides our students the ability to easily search, download, and play course content just like they do music, movies, and TV shows. It engages students on their turn and allows for learning on the go.

| Online Video Orientations |
With the aid of Visual Communicator, a video creating tool, Valencia faculty members are able to create a personal presence in the online learning environment. From a class orientation to a video lecture in which you may embed from Power Point slides to video clips, this tool delivers face to face interaction, until now, only possible in the classroom.

| Respondus |
Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard, WebCT, eCollege, ANGEL and other eLearning systems. Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, or moved from one eLearning system to another. Whether you are a veteran of online testing or relatively new to it, Respondus will save you hours on each project.

| Respondus LockDown Browser |
Respondus LockDown Browser™ is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Blackboard, Desire2Learn or WebCT. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading. (Supports Windows and Mac OS X 10.3.9+.)

| StudyMate |
StudyMate Author lets instructors create ten Flash-based activities and games using four simple templates. The Flash activities can be used with any web server or published directly to a Blackboard, WebCT, or ANGEL course. StudyMate Author will import items from MS Word files and publisher test banks, making it easy to create interesting, interactive activities from existing content. Best of all, you don’t have to know Flash programming or HTML to use StudyMate Author.

StudyMate Class Server is the ultimate study group where teachers and students create study materials in a collaborative, web-based environment. Simple templates are used to enter items such as glossary terms or facts from lecture. Students can then view the materials using self-assessments or interactive learning activities.
