The January minutes were approved.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

CLC SPD Funds: Lisa Armour will edit the online form for requesting College Learning Council SPD funds so that it is clear that the form should be followed by a written proposal.

Strategic Learning Plan (SLP) – Refresh Plan: The “Precedence Diagram” created by the governing council officers was presented. Learning Council members offered several suggestions for clarification of the diagram and accompanying memo.

“Front Door” Courses: Ron Nelson submitted a proposed list of fourteen college credit courses that have no prerequisities and high enrollment. Institutional Research intends to monitor the courses, measuring registration availability and completion rates. The list of courses was approved. The courses will be referred to as Entry Level College Credit Courses.

Charge for a work team to revise/design AS, AAS, and AA Program Reviews: The draft charge was modified and approved. The Instructional Affairs Committee will be asked to oversee the formation of a work team and track the team’s progress, reporting back to the Learning Council.

INFORMATION ITEMS

2004 Learning Day: The Learning Day will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2004. The committee to plan the day has been established, chaired by Louise Pitts, Special Assistant for the Learning-Centered Initiative.

Next Learning Council Meeting: The next meeting will be April 6, 2004, 2:30 PM. Location TBA.
