Reclassification Schedule 2007-2008

Valencia Community College is committed to maintaining the equity and integrity of our classification and compensation systems. Valencia Community College participates in internal and external-market salary surveys. Market data collected from these surveys are among the factors we use to ensure that our total compensation packages are consistent and comparable to labor markets with similar services being performed.

Once a year, requests for reclassification are accepted. Below is the timeline for 2007-2008.

All three forms necessary to submit a request for reclassification are in links below the timeline. Each of these must be completed in its entirety in order to be considered for review.

Human Resources sends out email with web link to appropriate Senior Administrator to download Classification Forms.

All completed classification packets must be received in Human Resources with necessary signatures in priority order; attention: Dannette Johnson, mail code 3-33.

Human Resources will organize and forward classification requests to VP of HR & Diversity.

Dr. Stone reviews the list with the VPs/Provosts and makes necessary adjustments prior to submission to the College Operations Council. It is the VP's responsibility to notify their departments of requests that are being approved/disapproved for the fiscal year.

COC meets and takes action on list of positions to recommend for study.

02/15/07

Receive/organize COC's recommendations. HR will schedule desk audit appointments for employee/supervisor at physical location(s).

Conduct employee/supervisor desk audits.

Organize and make recommendations, including salary adjustments and budget impact on classification actions to the VP, HR & Diversity. Notify AVP, Budget and Logistical Services regarding salary and budget impact. (Rough estimate)

Dr. Stone will meet with appropriate Senior Administrator to discuss recommendations.

Deadline for appeals.

Vice Presidents

04/27/07

Appeals Resolved and Recommendations are presented to the President.

Notify departments regarding final recommendations and Budget Office of proposed changes.
