Departmental Websites
For
Valencia departmental websites, there is a template which
conforms to the "Valencia Look" and you can obtain a
departmental site by contacting one of the individuals to the
right.
For electronic classrooms please contact Instructional Media and Support Services
if you are having a problem with the equipment in the room.
Our Instructional Support Services Technician will be able to
resolve any issues with this equipment and/or arrange to show
you how to utilize the equipment.

All faculty have access to creating a "Front Door" site in
Atlas. Simply Login to Atlas, Click on College Services,
and locate the link for login to Faculty Front Door. Fore

Flashlight Online
is a Web-based system that enables you to create surveys from
the question bank or with questions you write yourself. You can
then (if you choose) administer the survey online, receive a
simple analysis of data, and download raw data for use in your
own statistical package. Contact Melissa Pedone to be
registered in the system as a Valencia Faculty member in the
system and receive a user name and password.

Valencia Community College
has a site license for Microsoft Products to
include Office (Access, Excel, FrontPage, PowerPoint, Publisher,
Word) and Windows Operating Systems. All computers at Valencia
should have this software installed and available for use by
you. Some copies are available for home use and you should
contact the OIT help desk if you require a copy for your home
computer.

hardware and/or software on the computer in your office, you

There is now a media Web
server available for all faculty to use in order to post digital
audio and video files to supplement your courses. The IIT
department has the ability to digitize pre-recorded video and/or
record live video for use through the Valencia Web site. Please

Valencia
has obtained a college-wide license for the
Turnitin.com anti-plagiarism service. This service will allow
instructors (or students) to upload papers via a Web interface,
and the papers will then be checked for potential plagiarism,
poor or questionable citation, and so on. Response time is
generally less than a few hours; often as little as a few
minutes. The service checks against an extensive database of
existing papers, all published academic and professional
journals, and the Internet. You may also learn more about it at http://www.turnitin.com.
