1.
Inserting
Clip Art
a.
Click to place the insertion point at the location
you wish to insert a clip.
b.
From the Insert
menu, choose Picture, and then choose Clip Art.
c.
The Task
Pane will open on the right, with the Insert
Clip Art task active.
d.
Type a key word in the Search: box, then click on Search.

e.
A list of thumbnail pictures will appear. As you scroll through, notice that many of
the images have small icon in the bottom corner. If an image has a yellow star in the corner, it is an animated clip.
f.
If an image has a CD icon in the corner, it requires an extra media CD that can be
purchased from Microsoft.

g.
If an image has a globe icon in the corner, it is available through Microsoft’s
online Clip Gallery.

h.
Scroll down until you find an image with a globe icon that you would like to
insert. Double click on the image and it
will be inserted at the insertion point on your document.
i.
To resize the image, move your cursor to a corner
handle of the image until the cursor turns into a two-way arrow. Click and hold the handle and drag on a
diagonal to resize the image.

Editing
Clip Art
a.
Double click on the image you just placed on your
document. A Format Picture window will open.
b.
Click on the Layout
tab and choose Square as the Wrapping
Style.
c.
Choose Left as the Horizontal Alignment, then click OK.
3.
Using
the Microsoft Online Design Gallery
a.
While the Insert
Clip Art task pane is still open, click on
at the bottom of the pane.
b.
This will launch Internet Explorer, and take you out to Microsoft’s website. Accept the terms of use, and you
will be taken directly to the Online Design
Gallery.

c.
In the Search
for: box on the left, type a key word.
d.
In the Search
in: box, choose Everywhere.
e.
In the Results
should be: box, choose Clip Art.
f.
In the Order
by: box, choose Newer.
g.
Click on Go.
h.
You
will see your search results appear, with a total page count in the top right
corner of the screen. Click on the
double arrow pointing right to advance to the next page of results.
i.
When
you see a clip you would like to use, click in the check box underneath it. You can select multiple clips for download.
j.
Once you have selected the clips you wish to
download, click on the Download X Clips link in the top
left corner.
k.
If prompted, choose MPF as the file type (Office XP only).

Click on
m.
The clips are downloaded into your Clip Organizer on your computer. They are there permanently.
4.
Accessing
Downloaded Clips
a.
To access your downloaded clips, Click on Clip
Organizer in the Insert Clip Art
task pane.
b.
In the window that opens, click on Downloaded
Clips in the Collection List
pane.

c.
Right click on the clip you wish to use, and then
choose Copy from the menu that pops up.
d.
Return to your document, position the insertion
point where you want the clip to be, then click on the Paste button (
) on
the Standard toolbar.
