The recently renamed and dedicated Anita S. Wooten Gallery is a teaching gallery dedicated to enhancing student understanding and appreciation of art and providing both students and the extended community exposure to a diverse agenda of visual art forms from regional artists. Exhibitions are free and open to the public.

The Photographs of Jack Mitchell: The Thrasher Horne Collection

October 2, 2009 - November 6, 2009: Opening Reception will be held on Friday October 2, 2009 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Jack Mitchell was a New York Times photgrapher for the Arts & Leisure Section from 1975 to 1995. This particular collection contains photographs of such famous personalities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Meryl Streep, John Lennon and many more. The photographs are dramatic black and white studies that capture the spirit of these cultural icons at the peak of their careers. Today Jack is now 84 and retired. Having been born in Key West and raised in New Smyrna this Florida native left home in 1950 to build his famous career and has since returned to New Smyrna for his retirement.
