Requirements for Enrollment in EPI:

In order to be considered for enrollment in the Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) program, you must possess a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. You must also possess a Statement of Status of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) stating "You are Eligible for a Temporary Certificate." The "Eligibility" statement must be presented at the EPI Enrollment Session.

To obtain this statement, you must apply for Certification at    http://www.fldoe.org/edcert/level3.asp . This process includes a $75.00  processing fee for each subject area in which you intend to be certified.

If you are not eligible, the statement will list any necessary requirements that you must fulfill in order to be found eligible. You cann be admitted to the program unless you are "Eligible for a Temporary Certificate."

Steps to Enrollment:

1. Complete all of the following required documents to present at an EPI Enrollment/Indormation Session:

• Complete an Valencia Admission Application from this Valencia website. You can do this online. You will need to supply proof of all residency documents and a check for the $35.00 processing fee in order to be enrolled. You do not need the application, residency information, and application feet when attending the Enrollment/Information session, but you will need them in order to register.
• Download, print, and complete the EPI Student Information Sheet.
• Download, complete, and print the Brief Biographical Statement
• Download, print, and complete the FEAPS Pre-Assessment
• Download, print, and complete the Teaching Profession Questionnaire
• Dowload, print, and complete the EPI Education Plan
• If you do not intend to complete your field experience in an Orange County Public School or if you currently employed in a full-time teaching position, then the following information does not apply. If you are not currently employed as a full-time teacher and intend to complete the field experience in an Orange County Public School, complete the Student portion of the Student/Teacher Acceptance Form and all of the following forms found at http://interns.ocps.net :
  • Agreement Checklist
  • Code of Ethics
  • Brief Biographical Statement
  • Criminal Record Information
  • Personnel Hiring Statement
  • OCPS Student Acceptance Form

2. Please bring your official sealed transcripts to the Information/Enrollment session or have them sent to:

• You may present your sealed, official transcripts at the Enrollment Session if they cannot be sent.

3. Sign-up for and attend an EPI Enrollment Session

• You must present all of the above mentioned documents at the mandatory Enrollment Session to be approved for the program.

• At the EPI Enrollment Session, all of the above mentioned documents will be received and Applications will be approved and accepted as long as all documents and the $35.00 application fee are attached. The Session will also include an orientation and important information about the program.
