Service to the College, Campus, and Community

•  Judi Addelston, Debra Hollister, Shawn Robinson, Yasmeen Qadri, A.J. Quackenbush, and Darryl Thorne serve as advisors for student organizations.

•  Jovan Trpovski serves on the College Planning Council.

•  Paul Labedz and A.J. Quackenbush serve on the East Campus Faculty Senate.

•  Regina Cassady and Mark Logas served on the department's Tenure Review Committee.

•  Debra Hollister served on two (2) ILP Review Committees.

•  Shawn Robinson served on numerous college and campus hiring committees.

•  Debi Jakubcin serves a Valencia representative to FACC.

•  Kay Garner, Debra Hollister, Paul Labedz, Mark Logas, A.J. Quackenbush, and Darryl Thorne have served as Internship Supervisors or Coordinators.

•  A.J. Quackenbush served as the volunteer Lacrosse Coach for Edgewater High School .

•  Shawn Robinson serves on the Atlas/Banner implementation team and College Diversity Committee.

•  Shawn Robinson serves on the board of the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County.

•  Debra Hollister and her students washed cars to raise money for hurricane relief. As part of a service learning component to her courses, she also encouraged her students to donate canned goods and books to help feed the hungry and promote literacy.

•  Luseni Kamara, Mark Logas, and John Sunvold had students, who as part of their U.S. Government classes sent letters to local newspapers and elected officials, receive publication ( http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/letters/orl-le17_506apr17,0,6571041.story?coll=orl-opin-letters-headlines ) and receive responses. Additionally, Heather Coiro, Civic Leadership Intern, was successful in getting the Lake County School Board to reinstate driver's education at select local high schools ( http://www.dailycommercial.com/main.asp?SectionID=31&SubSectionID=162&ArticleID=15943 and http://www.dailycommercial.com/main.asp?SectionID=31&SubSectionID=162&ArticleID=16823).

•  Christine McClure was selected to serve on the Professional Women's Advisory Board of the American Biographical Institute.
