Several full-time faculty members have made
presentations at department meetings about Atlas Tools, WebCT,
Classroom Performance System ( CPS ) response
system, syllabus construction, and classroom management.
Several faculty (full-time and part-time) have
begun teaching hybrid and online classes using publisher-created
course packs and WebCT.
Several faculty have participated in the Destination,
Faculty-to-Faculty, and Achieving the Dream programs as facilitators
and participants.
Fifteen (15) adjunct faculty reached Associate
Faculty status during the first year of the program.
Debra Hollister was selected to serve as a grader
for the national Advanced Placement Psychology exam.
Debbie Drobney was selected for an endowed chair.
Luseni Kamara earned his doctorate in Economics.
Alysse Rasmussen earned her M.A. in Learning
& Technology as well as started a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary
Studies (with an emphasis on Second Languages).
Shawn Robinson earned his Juris Doctorate.
Debi Jakubcin earned her baccalaureate degree
from Rollins College and began graduate studies.
Debi Jakubcin attended a conference on wellness
and has been certified accordingly.
Judi Addelston, Debbie Drobney, Debra Hollister,
Mark Logas, Yasmeen Qadri, Alysse Rasmussen, and Shawn Robinson
have attended conferences related to their respective disciplines
and student organizations.
Carl Creasman was chosen to contribute 3 chapters
to an online text book published by The National Social Science
Press called Modern Western Civilization: From the Rise
of Absolutism to the Present. Carl Creasman has also
received recognition for his teaching of history through gaming
by Firaxis Games.
Daniel Siegel was selected Director of Education
for Sylvan Learning Center of Orlando.
Christina Morris was selected Director of Instructional
Design Research at RAYDON, in Daytona.
Christine McClure was nominated by the American
Biographical Institute
for the International Peace Prize, Greatest Women of the 21st
Century and
Women of the Year 2005.
Christine McClure received an award from Brevard
Community College for integrating Service Learning into the
curriculum. Christine McClure was nominated and received the
Empire's Who's Who Among Executives & Professionals award.
Christine McClure received the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty
of the Year Award at Brevard Community College.
Alysse Rasmussen was nominated for the DETC
(Distance Education and Technology Council) Graduate Student
of the Year Award.
McGregor's Martial Arts and head Coach (Professor)
Sherry McGregor brought home 13 medals and all 11 team members
placed in the top 5 in the nation in their rank and age categories
at the AAU
Karate Nationals with over 3,000 competitors .
