Awards and Recognitions

Fall Semester 2007

In January Mr. Alan Gerber took the Valencia Singers chorus and soloists up to the University of N. Florida for the Winter Symposium sponsored by The Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA).  A competition was held for vocal and piano soloists and Valencia came away with top honors!  We are proud of the fine work our students are doing and it is certainly reflected in their performances in these and other competitions.  Congratulations!!!!

Spring Semester 2008

The National Association of Teachers of Singing holds its District Level competitions every year and this year it was held at Valencia.  Once again Valencia students showed what they are made of and we are very proud of their accomplishments.  Awards were given out as follows:

First Place - Feryal Qudourah (1st year College Women) student of Carla DelVillaggio

First Place - Toccara Scott (2nd year College Women) student of Meredith Woodend

Third Place - Yuliya Johnson (2nd year College Women) student of Carla DelVillaggio

Second Place - Jeffrey Daviero (2nd year College Men) student of Meredith Woodend
