The Humanities, Foreign Language, Visual and Performing Arts Department is dedicated to providing the highest quality educational experience which will assist our diverse student population in realizing their educational and professional goals, and believes that the college is a cohesive whole striving to meet community educational needs.   As an educational unit we are committed to:

• Acquaint students, by instruction and example, with the values and culture that illuminate the process of human development
• Provide a broad array of artistic and intellectual experiences for our students, and the community, which are representative of the diverse cultures in our society
• Integrate diverse knowledge, critical thinking skills, and technologies with instruction to ensure student success in achieving and completing their academic and professional goals
• Develop our students' communication/linguistic skills
• Encourage, and provide the means for, personal and professional faculty development
