The Office of College & Community Relations (C&CR) is located in the Division of Institutional Advancement. The office serves a vital role at Valencia by ensuring that Valencia’s mission, vision, and goals are communicated both internally and externally. C&CR is comprised of four main areas of responsibility: College Relations; Community & Alumni Relations; Conference & Meeting Planning Services; and Staff and Organizational Development. These units work collaboratively to accomplish the following:

• To support College administration in the planning and logistical support necessary for college and community events, including Academic Assembly, awards and recognition programs, the Endowed Chairs program, Alumni Achiever’s Reception, and Commencement.


• To increase the level of mutual support of the College and its alumni provided through the work of the Alumni Association, with a focus on serving the needs of our diverse graduates.


• To generate revenue, recognition, and learning opportunities for the College through conferences and meetings, including the Florida Developmental Educators Association (FDEA), The Community College Conference on Legal Issues, the Learning Conversations Conference, and the Florida Nursing Summit.


• To support a comprehensive professional development program that includes new employee orientation, a Manager/Supervisor training program and highly specialized seminars, workshops and training programs for faculty and staff, in collaboration with other departments and divisions of the College.


• To strengthen support for the arts and the College's learning mission by providing unique learning experiences through interaction with renowned artists through Valencia's Visions & Voices Distinguished Artist Series. Artists not only give public performances but also interact with students in scheduled classes.


• To contribute to meeting the Valencia Foundation's annual revenue goals by working collaboratively with Foundation staff to cultivate support from public and private sources.


• To increase and strengthen the College's connections with the community in a powerful way through dynamic, productive community conversations about helping students succeed.
