has been updated. The revised procedure is listed on the Accounts
Payable web page located at Significant changes include:
. Requests for new cellular phones or portable electronic devices
will be coordinated with the requesting employee, their supervisor
and the college's IT dept. and procurement staff.
. All cell phone equipment and monthly usage will be charged to the
requesting department.
. Employees are required to reimburse the college for personal
charges on their college-paid cell phone if the base monthly plan
minutes are exceeded.
. The monthly bills for usage must be reviewed by the employee and
approved by the departmental budget chairperson.
. If a personal cell phone is used to conduct college business,
reimbursement may be requested for minutes used for business
purposes if the plan minutes have been exceeded during the billing
period.
As stated, the revised procedure takes effect Jan.1. Bills for

reimbursement to the college for all personal minutes used.

Valencia Foundation Gala
The Valencia Foundation hosted its annual Donor Appreciation Gala on
Saturday, December 17 at the Portofino Bay Hotel. This dinner
recognized our friends' significant contributions to the Foundation
and included vocal students from our music department, truffles
created by our culinary students, and a video featuring several of
our scholarship recipients.
Thank you to faculty and staff who have contributed to the
Foundation through payroll deduction, and to our President's Circle
members.
Kudos
Dr. Jared Graber, West Campus Dean of Business, Behavioral
and Social Sciences, and Dr. Karen Borglum, West Campus Dean
of Communications, conducted a concurrent session at the December
Annual Meeting of the SACS Commission on Colleges in Atlanta. The
presentation titled "Learning Assessment and Enhancement - A
Documentation and Incentive System," provided an overview on the
planning, evaluation and documentation of learning assessment and
enhancement initiatives at the academic division level including
annual Division Action Plans as well as competitive projects
approved by the Instructional Affairs Committee (IAC).
Please make a note of..
Penny Villegas' mail code has changed from 3-20 to 3-16.

Downtown Center to the West Campus, Building 14, room 114. You can
reach Undria at ext. 5557 and mail code 4-42.
Human Resource News
Please notify Human Resources when a student or part-time hourly
employee working for you resigns. If HR is not notified and doesn't
terminate their employment, the student or part-time hourly employee
will remain "active" in the Oracle HR/Payroll system until no pay
has been processed for them for 6 consecutive months.
New address or phone number? If you recently moved or have a new
address or phone number, you'll need to be sure Human Resources
knows about the change. A Change of Address form is available on the
college website or you can request one by calling ext. 8033. HR will
also accept an address/phone number change from an employee via
e-mail. Call HR to find out who to send the e-mail to and what other
information might be needed.
Attention supervisors! If you supervise work study students or
part-time hourly employees, please remind them to notify Human
Resources when they move or get a new phone number. This will
prevent pay checks, direct deposit stubs, W-2 forms, etc. from being
returned, undeliverable, by the post office.
Please contact Human Resources at ext. 8033 if you have any
questions.
