News from Procurement
Procurement is purchasing Valencia name tags for all new employees.
HR will provide forms at Orientation for the employee to request
what name they prefer to be called and printed on the tag. Delivery
will be 3-5 days after Orientation. Additional tags can be ordered
by the department using their departmental funds on line at:
http://www.valenciacc.edu/procurement/facultystaff.asp
Vendor Business Profiles and W-9 Forms: Any vendor or person who
wants to do business with the college (no matter what funding is
used) must complete and sign a Vendor Business Profile and W-9 form.
The Vendor Business Profile captures information such as company
name, address (both purchasing and remit to site), phone, fax,
E-mail, type of service or commodity they provide and business
ownership. The W-9 form is required by the Internal Revenue Service
for every payment made to by the College. Please direct vendors to
our web-site:
http://www.valenciacc.edu/procurement/vendor.asp. A cover letter
along with the 2 required forms can be easily downloaded and sent
directly to the Procurement Office for entry into the Oracle
database. Should you have any questions, please contact Aida
Gonzalez, Supplier Specialist, at ext 5537.
Anyone in need of an Oracle 11i Training Manual, please contact
us at ext. 5532 or e-mail valenciaprocurement@valenciacc.edu. All we
need is your name and mail code. The manual includes how to run
reports, how to check the status of your requisition, how to check
your funds, how to see if a supplier is in the database, and more!
What is Grad Track?
Grad Track is a program designed to assist Valencia Community
College students in making a smooth transition to University of
Central Florida., where approximately 85% of our graduates continue
their education! This program will help them make the transfer as
easily as possible.
An invitation to Grad Track is extended to all Valencia students
who have completed 45 or more credits and who have not graduated.
Students are invited to an evening of informative sessions designed
to answer all of their questions. The students, in large group
session, learn from Valencia Student Services-Advising staff about
graduation requirements, and then talk with UCF personnel who
provide information about financial aid, admission, and program
requirements.
From the large group, students are placed into small group
sessions led by UCF faculty from each major area. There is also a
Valencia advisor on hand for each group to assist student with
selection of courses for their final semester at Valencia. Students
then receive a priority registration time ticket for Spring Term
Valencia classes before they leave campus.
The program has proven popular with students. Last fall, about 350
students participated in the two-evening event.
This year's Grad Track events will take place as follows:
Date: Wednesday, November 9, 2005
Location: East Campus PAC Lobby
Time: 4:30 p.m., please check in prior to the start of the program
Date: Thursday, November 10, 2005
