a True Colors workshop, the end of the mystery is near! Even if you

I'm Not Crazy, I'm Just Not You: Myers-Briggs in the Workplace

different work styles. Join us on Thursday, August 18, 8:00 - 11:00
a.m., East Campus, Room TBA, registration code GMBT818.

News from Procurement
Oracle Approvers can forward their Notifications to another
Oracle Approver prior to going out on leave. This keeps your office
running smoothly in your absence!
Instructions for this easy procedure can be found in the Oracle
Purchasing Manual, under the tab for: Approval Instructions
including Forwarding Notifications.
P-Card Approvers must delegate their approval for weekly
PaymentNet downloads when out of the office and inform Kacy Weekes,
the P-card Program Administrator of his/her replacement. Downloads
from PaymentNet to Oracle occur on a weekly basis, no matter what.
By delegating your approver replacement, transactions can be
reviewed and approved and not subject to audit findings. Receipts
should be verified and filed with in the requesting department.
In creating a paper requisition, one hard original is all we
require. NCR paper is not needed. Send the paper requisition with
any/all its attachments to the Procurement Office (MC 4-42) for
vendor verification and then we will forward it to Accounts Payables
for payment. Paper requisitions are used for Travel, SPD, VCC
Bookstore, or anything requiring a check.
News from Finance
Effective July 1, 2005, the minimum value for capitalized, tagged
equipment has increased to $1,000 per item. The value was increased
in compliance with a change in Florida Statutes. Please refer to the
General Use Chart of Accounts included on the Valencia website:
http://valenciacc.edu/accounts for detailed definitions of all
equipment general ledger codes relating to this revision.

All Faculty & Professional Staff
The fall term start up is rapidly approaching. As in the past, we
will gather at the Academic Assembly which is scheduled for
Wednesday, August 24, 2005 on the East Campus at the Performing Arts
Center.
Prior to the program, breakfast will be served in the Cafeteria
on East Campus (building 5) for all attendees. After breakfast,
there will be both a presentation and ample time for dialog. Please
make your plans to participate.
This year's theme will tie into the "The Year of Think" and many
important topics/dates will be discussed. This gathering will
provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of several of
our colleagues and to take a fresh look together at our progress as
a college.
As always, the first priority for the week will be preparing to
serve our students, therefore, we promise to respect your time.
Please take time to review the agenda below.
With warm anticipation,
- Sandy and Louise
