Fun Facts from Procurement

As you might imagine, it takes a lot of manpower and supplies to keep our campuses looking good. This past fiscal year, the College spent over $100,000 in custodial supplies. The breakdown of the items most commonly used is:

. Toilet Tissue, 1575 cases, $35,191
. Multi fold paper towels, 520 cases, $8,833
. Roll paper towels, 860 cases, $27,894
. Trash Can liners, 850 cases, $9,193

Procurement, in close collaboration with Plant Operations, develops specifications and solicits bids on these and other items to ensure that the College is getting quality products at the most competitive prices. Any item or groups of items such as custodial supplies or services that in total, exceed $25,000, must be formally bid via an ITB (Invitation to Bid) or RFP (Request for Proposal).

Federal Express News: If your department uses Federal Express services please note that the college is charged $10.00 for an invalid account number and $2.00 for residential deliveries. If you would like to verify our account number, please send an email to ccampanella@valenciacc.edu.

Utilization of any College Contract is subject to all applicable policies and procedures and may require prior written approval. As with any college transaction, please be certain that you are duly authorized and have obtained the required approvals before initiating any transaction.

Thank you.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for giving me such a wonderful retirement party. All of you touched my heart very dearly with your smiles, and the special way you treated me for 21 years. I truly appreciate the love and appreciation you showed me all the way to the end. I will miss you very much my Valencia family.

Attention Supervisors!

Please be sure to notify Human Resources when a student or part-time hourly employee working for you resigns. If HR is not notified and doesn't terminate their employment, the student or part-time hourly employee will remain "active" in the Oracle HR/Payroll system until no pay has been processed for them for 6 consecutive months.

Please contact Human Resources at extension 1333 if you have any questions.
Additionally, if you supervise work study students or part-time hourly employees, please remind them to notify Human Resources when they move or get a new phone number. This will prevent pay checks, direct deposit stubs, W-2 forms, etc. from being returned, undeliverable, by the post office.
