Health Issues and Nutrition - This workshop will be hosted by
representatives of Orlando Regional Medical Center. The topics
discussed will be health issues and the guides and importance of

Introduction to iLife '05 - For Mac Users ONLY: Come learn
how to iLife '05. With this software you will be able to import,
organize, and edit RAW photos and stun people with fully
customizable slideshows, movies and DVDs. No previous experience

WebCT Introduction - Excited to get involved with WebCT,
but not sure where to start? Join this beginner class to start your
online success with WebCT. Topics include course planning, home page

Your Options Under the FRS - Are you prepared for one of
the most wonderful stages in life: retirement? How close are you to
those golden years? This three-part seminar begins on Thursday, July
21 with Your Options Under the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and
will will provide an in-depth look at the State of Florida's
retirement system and the options available. The second installment,
What to Expect from Social Security, will feature a representative
from the Social Security Administration who will discuss Social
Security and Medicare. The last session, Valencia's 401(a) and
Incentive Retirement Plan will provide Q&A on both options. Join us

The Principles and Qualities of Genuine Leadership: Manager's
Version - More than ever, everyone in an organization needs a
deep knowledge of leadership best practices and help in tailoring
those practices to their own situations. To meet this need, this
workshop outlines the universal leadership principles and qualities
that help individuals become genuine leaders that can translate
intentions into reality. Join us on Friday, July 22, 8:30 a.m. -

News from Procurement
Personal purchases for Dell computers are made available to all
Faculty, Staff and Students at a discounted price. Dell offers a
discount to students and staff of higher education institutions all
over the country and this has no correlation whatsoever with the
Institution's formal contract. Please note that this pricing offered
from Dell is not Valencia's Contract pricing. For more information,

Time for a Fresh Start! Current Procurement card holders are
reminded to have their encumbrances for Fiscal Year 0506 in as soon
as possible so that their card limits can be established. Simply
forward your budget(s) and corresponding GL(s) to Kacy Weekes, email
address kjohnsonweekes@valenciacc.edu, along with the desired
amount. (Encumbered funds can be released at any time for other
purposes, ex. POs).
Using your P-Card online with Office Depot: Please remember when
using your P-Card online with Office Depot, funds must be encumbered
first with Kacy Weekes before you place orders for FY 05/06. Online
Office Depot prices reflect contract pricing up to 40% off retail
costs. And it includes next day delivery!!
Reminder for Supervisors, Managers, and Administrators
Please be sure to notify Human Resources when a student or part-time
hourly employee working for you resigns. If HR is not notified and
doesn't terminate their employment, the student or part-time hourly
employee will remain "active" in the Oracle HR/Payroll system until
no pay has been processed for them for 6 consecutive months.
Please contact Human Resources at extension 1333 if you have any
questions.
New address or phone number?
If you recently moved or have a new address or phone number, you'll
need to be sure Human Resources knows about the change. A Change of
Address form is available on the college website or you can request
one by calling extension 1333. HR will also accept an address/phone
number change from an employee via e-mail. Call HR to find out who
to send the e-mail to and what other information might be needed.
