AAWCC Hosts Inaugural Career Development Day
On April 2, the Valencia Chapter of the American Association of
Women in Community Colleges hosted our first Career Development Day.
Thirty-three female students, nominated by staff and faculty, joined
us to focus on developing the necessary skills to be a successful
woman in the workplace. Attendees participated in workshops on
networking, resume writing, job interviewing, business etiquette and
heard a keynote address by Gail Evans, Executive Vice President of
CNN. AAWCC appreciates the support of Dr. Tracy Edwards, Corrine
Russo and Mary Ann Kinser who spoke at the event as well as the
AAWCC members who worked to produce the day: Patti Riva (AAWCC
President), Amy Bosley (AAWCC President-Elect), Carol Johnson, Lois
Brennan, Angela Trujillo, Trish Anderson, Anita Kovalsky, Carmen
Diaz, and the staff at the Winter Park Campus.
