Request from the Library
You may not recognize the "LINCC" name, but have you ever used online resources to search for a book, find an article or access a database through one of Valencia's libraries? LINCC is the portal for all of Florida's 28 community colleges to share an incredible amount of material, a service that most of us take for granted! Periodically LINCC administers a user satisfaction survey. This feedback is used to evaluate the users' experience. Please take a few minutes to complete this online survey. You will be able to identify your status (student, faculty, administrator, other). The 11 question survey runs through November 16 and is available at http://survey.cclaflorida.org/surveys/student2007.htm
News from Procurement
Banner Helpful Hints:
Keep on tabbing. When creating a requisition in INB Banner, it is important to tab through all the fields in the Commodity/Accounting tab. This includes your FOAP. The tabbing calculates your figures. If you are still not balanced on the Balancing/ Completion tab, try exiting the form and pull it up again to tab through and complete.
Saves and encumbers as you go. The INB Banner system saves as you go. When creating a requisition, the system will generate a requisition number by the time you reach the Commodity/ Accounting tab. The system also encumbers the funds even if you have not completed and sent your requisition for approval. Any incomplete requisition in the system is holding funds so make sure you complete and approve it or have Procurement cancel it for you.
Toner Cartridge Shipping Invoices
The cost of the toner cartridge for the Panasonic multifunctional units is included in our monthly service maintenance cost for the machine. However, a shipping cost of $5 is not. That is an additional cost that the collegewide account pays for. When you receive your new toner cartridge, please forward all invoices to Procurement at MC 4-42 for payment. Mark on the invoice the date the toner arrived.
Strategic Equipment List
Form B is required for all approved items on the Strategic Equipment List. This form, along with instructions for submittal of the form, can be found on the Procurement Web site under: http://www.valenciacc.edu/procurement/facultystaff_FAQs.asp.
Call for NISOD Nominations
Please consider nominating a worthy colleague for the National Institute for Staff & Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence in Learning Leadership Award. The purpose of the NISOD awards program at Valencia is to recognize members of the faculty, staff and administration for outstanding accomplishments in improving student learning. Recipients should have demonstrated meritorious learning leadership, as outlined in the award guidelines.
To request a nomination form and guidelines, please contact Shauna Anstey, College & Community Relations, extension 3211; or download the form at http://valenciacc.edu/pdf/Nomination_pkg.pdf.
For more information about NISOD and this year's conference, to be held May 25-28, 2008, visit NISOD’s Web site at www.nisod.org.
Last Opportunity to Apply for Participation in Valencia’s Focus on the Workplace Program During 2007-08
Applications are being accepted to participate in Spring Term and Summer Term A 2008. Eligible faculty are released from two 3-credit hour classes to participate.
