Human Resource News

New employee identification numbers - employees must immediately begin using Banner employee identification numbers, also known as VID numbers, on all forms and correspondence sent to Human Resources and Payroll. The old Oracle employee ID number is no longer valid. Banner ID numbers are printed on every pay check and/or direct deposit stub. Employees may also view their VID number by logging into Atlas and clicking the "Show VID" link.

Banner ID numbers are generated for new employees when they are hired and/or when they are entered into a class schedule as an instructor. Human Resources will e-mail the supervisor and provide the VID number for new employees when they are first set up in Banner. The supervisor should then make the new employee aware of his/her VID number.


Procurement News

Office Depot update : On-line ordering with Office Depot is for consumable office supplies only. In order to purchase items from Office Depot, a Banner purchase order or use of your P-Card is necessary to place orders.

The account number used for on-line orders is 655010 or 655020 (depending on your organization). Consumable supplies include items such as: pens, pencils, tablet pads, sticky notes, paper clips, folders, hanging folders, etc. Items not to be purchased on-line are: any type of equipment or furniture-including digital cameras, fans, typewriters, safes, microwaves, refrigerators, fax machines, printers, file cabinets, desks, etc.

Equipment or furniture orders are not permissible for on-line ordering with Office Depot. Please contact the procurement office for direction on ordering these types of items.

Types of personal or departmental items that the college does not pay for out of operational funds are: coffee, tea, sugar, candy, paper products (cups, bowls, plates), plastic silver ware, over the counter medicine, band aids, tissues, clocks, cleaning supplies, bottled water, etc.

Office cleaning is a service provided by the plant operations office college wide. Any issues regarding office cleaning should be directed to the plant operations office on your campus.

Copier and printer paper orders should be directed to the East, West or Winter Park Copy Centers .

All toner cartridges, name tags and custom stamps are ordered by departments through the procurement office via the Web site: http://www.valenciacc.edu/procurement/facultystaff.

Consulting Agreement update : A new Consulting Agreement form and instructions can be found on the Atlas Web page. Log onto Atlas, go to the College Services tab, under Faculty Tools, click on Valencia Forms. Print the Consultant Agreement Instructions before completing the Consultant Agreement form. This agreement is required when charging the following account numbers:

•  645080 - Contracted Non-Instructional Services
•  645081-88 - Contracted Non-Instructional Services, Valencia Enterprise

Banner Training Classes : Additional Banner training classes are being scheduled for September and October. A Banner Refresh class will be offered for all those who attended a Basic Banner or Self Service class. Please check the Leadership Valencia Web site for days, location and time.

When signing on to INB Banner, check under My Links for a green check. This tells you if anything has been returned or 'disapproved'.

Purchasing Card FAQ : Q: Is there a list of suppliers that accept the P-Card? A: No. Any supplier that accepts MasterCard should accept the Valencia P-Card. Ask the supplier prior to purchasing if they accept MasterCard. Please check your Purchasing Card Procedures Manual, located on the Web at: http://valenciacc.edu/ procurement/ProcurementCard.asp for complete details and how to acquire and use a Valencia P-Card.


Voices of Valencia News

Ever dreamed of singing in Disney's Epcot Candlelight Processional? Have you ever sung in the Epcot Candlelight Chorus and wanted to do so again? Now is your chance. The Voices of Valencia, under the direction of James Jones, has performed at Epcot for the past seven years. For the first time ever, this most spectacular event is being opened to all students, faculty and staff (both part-time and full-time) at Valencia .

All the information, including rehearsal dates, can be found on the website at www.voicesofvalencia.com. Click on Voices of Valencia and the information is at the bottom of the page. The only cost involved is for your music/CD and the cost of the bus trip itself. All you have to do is show up at the first rehearsal.
