Upcoming Community Events You Might Be
Interested In.
The 2007 Sight and Sole Walk to benefit Lighthouse
Central Florida will be held Saturday, March 31
at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs . Lighthouse Central Florida
is a non-profit organization that offers vision rehabilitation resources
in Central Florida . Details about the walk and Lighthouse Central
Florida can be found at www.lighthousecentralflorida.org
.
An interesting fact about Lighthouse Central Florida is that it
was originated from a class taught at Valencia back in 1971 so a
walk team from Valencia would be right at home at this event.
Heart of an Empire is a full-length feature documentary
that describes what a group of people who dress in full costume
from the Star Wars movies do and how they contribute to charitable
organizations. The film touches on the 501 st as a costuming group
and also focuses on a few particular cases where children have been
directly affected by the 501st's involvement in their lives. The
premier event takes place at the Orlando Science Center May 12 with
two showing at 6 and 9 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to support
the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through TEAM in TRAINING. For
more information and to see the movie trailer visit www.heartofanempire.com

Kudos
Lynn Capraun , program director of Respiratory
Care, has been awarded the prestigious Matt Brillis Award for Reserve
Deputy of the Year 2006, from the Orange County Sherriff's Office.
Lynn was selected by consistently showing a very high level of commitment
and dedication to the community and epitomizes the desired qualities
one expects from a law enforcement officer, those qualities being
professionalism, friendliness, compassion and above all, a genuine
desire to help the community. Many congratulations Lynn .
Thank You
I want to thank everyone for the visits, cards, gifts, and encouragement
