Transition to Bachelor's Degree Programs:
UCF Acceptance of all A.S. Degrees in Bachelor
of Applied Science (B.A.S.) Degree Program
The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) offered by the University
of Central Florida's Regional Campuses serves all Associate in Science
(A.S.) graduates who desire a bachelor's degree for career or personal
advancement.
In Orlando, UCF offers the B.A.S. at UCF MetroWest (Valencia's West
Campus) and UCF Osceola (Valencia's Osceola Campus). The program
builds on the technical and professional skills acquired in the
A.S. degree and focuses on enhaning organizational skills, management
skills and communication skills, such as critical thinking and problem-solving.
This program has flexibility, allowing students to complete any
needed remaining general education or foreign language courses at
Valencia or at UCF. The curriculum consists of core courses in ethics,
management and communication with a concentration chosen by the
student.
The student may choose a concentration in one of the following
6 areas:
- Supervision & Administration Track
- Industrial Operations Track
- Legal Studies Track
- Information Technology Track
- Criminal Justice Track
- Health Services Administration Track

- AS students can take advantage of DirectConnect to UCF and have
guaranteed program admission
- BAS program accepts courses taken at Valencia
- Entire degree program is completed at a UCF Regional Campus
- Coursework helps prepare students for management-level positions
- 6 hours of upper-level credits are waived (42 vs. 48)
- Students have the flexibility to choose one of 6 areas of concentration
-- not limited to AS specialization
- Students can complete their General Education courses concurrently
at the community college while taking upper-level courses
- Required upper-level electives allows for declaration of a minor
with an additional specialization
- There are no common program pre-requisites
- Students can easily change careers
- Students can transition into graduate programs

These agreements between Valencia and specific programs at various
private universities provide students with opportunities
to continue their educational goals and transfer credits from their
A.S. degree toward a bachelor's degree.

This agreement makes it possible for any student from Valencia with an A.S. degree or an A.A. degree to transfer into the General Business or Computer Science Bachelor's Degree at Webster University, Orlando Metropolitan Campus.

These agreements between Valencia and specific programs at various public universities provide students with opportunities to continue their educational goals and transfer credits from their A.S. degree toward a bachelor's degree.
University of Central Florida (UCF)

Veterinary Technology- Cooperative Agreement with St. Petersburg College:
Through this agreement, you may take the required general education courses for this program at Valencia, and take the remaining specialized courses through St. Petersburg College online. The required clinical and work experience can be obtained within the Central Florida area..
Criminal Justice - Credits Awarded at Valencia from a State
Certified Criminal Justice Training Academy:
This agreement awards credit for Certification/Licensure from a
state certified Criminal Justice Training Academy toward the A.S.
degree in Criminal Justice Technology at Valencia.
Professional Associations - Credits Awarded at Valencia:
You may receive credit for Certification from the CPS Professional
Association toward the A.S. degree in Office Administration at Valencia.

*Tech Center Industrial Related Programs into Valencia's Industrial
Management Technology A.S. Degree:
The Industrial Management Technology program is an articulated
program with Orange County Tech Centers that is designed to provide
opportunities for students to advance who have completed specific
industrial related programs at the tech centers. This degree provides
individuals currently working in industry an opportunity to pursue
college level education that is appropriate for supervisory and
management roles and upward mobility in their respective fields.
The approved industrial related postsecondary certificate and/or
apprenticeship training programs include: Automotive Collision Repair
& Automotive Service Technology, Heavy Duty Truck & Bus
Mechanics, Manufacturing, Air Conditioning, Carpentry, Building
Construction, Electricity, Electrician, Welding, Plumbing, Industrial
Pipefitter, Brick & Block Masonry, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Glazing,
Heavy Equipment Operations, Structural Steel Work, Sheet Metal Fabrication,
Cosmetology, Sewing Technology, Jewelry Making, Painting & Decorating,
Interior Decor and Interior Decorating.
Eligible students will be awarded 24 to 27 credits toward the technical
skills requirement in the Industrial Management A.S. degree. Eligible

Cooperative Agreement between Orange CountyTech Centers and Valencia for Concurrent Enrollment in Online General Education Courses for A.S./A.A.S. Degree Programs:
Orange County Tech Center students may concurrently enroll in Valencia's general education courses required for articualted A.S./A.A.S. degrees. The General Education courses may be accessed via an online delivery format or on site at any of Valencia's campuses. The concurrent enrollment will be available to students who are in programs designated by each of the Tech Centers (Mid Florida Tech, Orlando Tech, Westside Tech and Winter Park Tech).

students in technical education programs, Valencia Community College
agrees to extend at no cost to the eligible students (other than
the application for admission fee) full college credit who have
