This is a short-term program that can be completed in one year or less. It is designed to equip you with a specialized skill set for immediate employment or job advancement. All of the certificate courses are also included in the related A.S. degree program so it can be used as a building block toward completing the degree -- which will help improve your earning potential.

Culinary Arts (35 credits)
Program Description:
Valencia offers the only two-year degree-granting
culinary program in Orlando. Students utilize a 61,000 square
foot facility that includes classrooms, banquet rooms and
a high-tech demonstration kitchen with 20 fully equipped workstations.
Instruction ranges from sanitation to nutritional analysis
to the basic elements for great classical, international and
American cuisine. Career opportunities within this field can
be found in an array of establishments from hotels to theme
parks, schools to hospitals and private catering too.
Typical Tasks may include:
cooking, supervising cooks and kitchen personnel
planning menus, estimating food needs, ordering the proper amount of food, tracking costs and trend analysis
creating recipes for healthy cuisine including classical, international and American regional cuisine
quality food production with an emphasis on presentation
