These are short-term programs that can be completed in one year or less. They are designed to equip you with a specialized skill set for immediate employment or job advancement. All of the certificate courses are also included in the related A.S. degree program so they can be used as building blocks toward completing the degree -- which will help improve your earning potential.

Drafting - AutoCAD (15 credits)
Drafting with Specializations in: Architectural, Mechanical and Surveying Drafting (24 credits)
Program Description:
Drafting and design technicians play a vital role in the
engineering process. Their skills are the key to taking concepts
one step closer to completion. And while you may think you
know what drafting is all about, this is not your grandfather's
drafting career. Today's draftsmen possess tremendous technical
skills. Valencia's A.S. degree program teaches you how to
master state-of-the-art drafting and design techniques and
computer-aided drafting and design equipment.
Typical Tasks may include:
preparing plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches and notes for engineering or manufacturing purposes
using computer-assisted drafting (CADD) equipment and software

Nearly all engineering, design, and manufacturing firms are potential employers. More than one-third of all drafters work in engineering and architectural services; one-third in manufacturing, and the remainder in construction and utilities.
