These are short-term programs that can be completed in one year or less. They are designed to equip you with a specialized skill set for immediate employment or job advancement. All of the certificate courses are also included in the related A.S. degree program so they can be used as building blocks toward completing the degree -- which will help improve your earning potential.

Program Description:
This field is evolving every day. Ethical practices and sound
training are at the forefront of demand for accountants. Among
other things, accountants prepare the reports and schedules
that guide a company in evaluating efficiency, controlling
costs and increasing profitability. Valencia's Associate in
Science degree in Accounting Technology gives students an
advantage in the business world by training them in the latest
accounting and computer techniques. Students learn how to
solve problems using today's technology. The program focuses
on the principles, procedures and theories of organizing and
maintaining financial records, and preparing financial reports.
Typical Tasks may include:
data entry, payroll and invoice processing
preparing financial statements and reports
preparing budgets and forecasting
cash management
