Certificate Program: This is a short-term program that can be completed in one year or less. It is designed to equip you with a specialized skill set for immediate employment or job advancement. All of the certificate courses are also included in the related A.S. degree program so it can be used as a building block toward completing the degree -- which will help improve your earning potential.

Entertainment - Stage Technology (17 credits)
Program Description:
Valencia's Entertainment Design and Technology degree program
is one of only a handful in the whole country -- and the only
one in Central Florida -- that trains students to work in
all facets of the entertainment industry, giving you the skills
to work as part of a production team in the preparation and
performance of theatrical and entertainment events. Where better
to train for a career in the entertainment business than in
Orlando -- the undisputed entertainment capital of the world.

Live Show Production
Production Design
Typical Tasks may include:
installing, programming and operating intelligent lighting fixtures for concert events
designing, constructing and installing scenery for entertainment events
installing and operating theatrical sound equipment and designing special effects
setting up and operating the technical aspects of convention events
designing lighting for entertainment events and themed attractions
Characteristics Needed to be Successful:
Be responsible
Think on your feet and troubleshoot
Implement safety regulations
Manage stress and mishaps that could occur since the show must go on
