• Involve hundreds of business and industry leaders on advisory boards and roundtable discussions, who assist in the development and modification of career-focused degree programs.

• Redesign the curriculum of popular occupational programs into short modules that fit better with the lives of working adults

• Offer extensive continuing education programs through Valencia Institute, including programs customized for the needs of particular businesses

• Assist job seekers to secure skills that meet employers’ needs

• Help dislocated and other unemployed workers get new jobs—when people are squeezed out of the workforce, they come to community colleges for retraining

• Match employers with qualified interns and job seekers

• Attract new industry by upgrading the skills of the workforce
